Elf Queen 3 Weekly Update 8/6/23

Hello again my book loving friends, it’s JM. In case you didn’t see it The Bookish Box announced the ON SALE DATE of Long Live the Elf Queen! Early access on August 18th at 10 a.m. for subscribers, those who bought the December 2022 box, and those who bought Bow Before the Elf Queen special edition.

Public Access will be August 21st at 10 a.m.

I would jump on it as quickly as possible as I expect them to sell fast.

It is estimated to ship DECEMBER 2023.

While I was in Arizona last month I actually got to stop by the Bookish Box headquarters and meet the staff and see the warehouse. It was amazing to meet everyone, they’re so nice, and see all the shelves and stacks of pretty Bookish Box editions. Dana was even kind enough to give me an armful of special editions from other authors!

So my new assistant helped me clean my office this week. I wish I’d taken before pictures because it was an absolute disaster but now it looks great. We got some fresh decor on the walls, got the books actually on the shelves instead of stacked in corners or still in boxes. This is the place I write my books :)

I will be driving down to southern Utah to stay for the next week for 5 days. I hope to take lots of fun pictures for you all. I love the red rock and the desert, although I should have planned for it later in the year because it’s going to be over 100 degrees every day. *already sweating*

Book 3 update

I hoped to say I got started on edits this week but my editor has not gotten the manuscript back to me. She had gotten sick at some point last month and it put her behind schedule.

I’m hoping this doesn’t put me behind schedule and push the release into October, but it might happen, just a forewarning.

A lot goes into a book release, besides edits. I have my proofreader then the book needs formatted inside and outside. Then ARC signs ups. Marketing. But what typically takes the longest is ordering proof copies of the paperback and hardback to make sure everything lines up correctly and then waiting for them to get shipped. And also shipping out physical ARC copies to certain influencers and all that jazz. I also plan to do limited book boxes so those need to be shipped before the release date as well.

I will have sign ups for both physical ARCS and ebook ARCs when I know a for sure release date.
