Elf Queen book 3 Weekly Update + T-Shirts!

Hi! It’s JM! Great news! Gram is home and doesn’t need any rehabilitation because she’s doing so well! If you missed my last update my grandma had a stroke and couldn’t speak, was very confused and hospitalized. We prayed for a miracle and we got one!

Here is me and Gram on my wedding day. I love her so much and I’m so glad we get more time with her.

I have a few more designs in the works. It just takes me time. I’m pretty much a one woman team. I do all my own marketing and advertising. I write all my posts and make all my videos and take if I post pictures or like an Instagram graphic, I did it unless I state otherwise. I write my own emails and if I reply back to you, it’s me! So if I haven’t gotten back to you yet, I will.

I also obviously plot, write and edit my books. (No AI help here. But I hear this is becoming a thing.) This part is where I get the most help from beta readers and proofreaders.

I also design my own covers. I hired an artist to draw my Elf Queen but other than that I do it all. And everything else that comes along with running a business. I love it though!

We have Tif stickers coming! I hired an artist for the artwork of our little Tifapine and she’s ADORABLE! I ordered some samples of the stickers to make sure they look good and they’ll I’ll add her to the shop. I’ll probably also put her on a T-shirt and on a 4×6 card!

Elf Queen progress

This week I ended on 70k words for the manuscript- so only 5k words for the week. But this week I did a lot of editing and plotting and world building. I had to take a step back and really get the details of the gods and their origin stories. And like a family tree and realms and where they belong and how they connected and which races are in which realm.

I’ve based the realms and gods off Norse Mythology but they differ as much as they’re alike. Mine is its own unique tale and it’s actually a lot of work creating entirely new mythological lore! Lol

I had the ideas for it from planning the series but this week I added the details and made sure it all fits! I’m going to have a map of the realms drawn and probably a family tree of sorts for the gods.

How many books are going to be in the series? I get asked this almost daily and I always feel weird saying this but I don’t know. I have ideas for spin off books and this world I’ve created. For Layala being the MC, I think there will be one more book, so a 4th. But there could be a 5th lol.

If you readers want, I have endless ideas and I could carry it on for quite a few books because I love these characters.

But I think it’s likely I’ll write the same world but new main MC’s too at some point.

I don’t know why I thought of this today but I feel prompted to share. You probably don’t know this about me but I’m big into mindset and how your mind controls your world and the way you perceive things. And how if you think negatively you will be stuck in a negative reality, and things never go your way, and life sucks and you have “bad luck”because that’s what you see, that’s what you focus on. There is a lot of negativity and worry and barely getting by in our world but that doesn’t have to be your life.

Changing the way I think and expecting good things to happen rather than bad, waking up and thinking positive things rather than negative, being GRATEFUL every single day even if it’s simply for the air I breathe and a warm home, there is always something to be grateful for. Believing in my dreams and myself changed my life.

I highly recommend you check out Dr Joe Dispenza and his work. I listened to his book “Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself” years ago and it blew my mind and totally changed the way I think. I recommend going into it blind and just listening to it and seeing what you think.
