Hey, it’s JM here with another weekly update! My new schedule that I talked about last week made this week’s progress so much better! I’ve kept to my waking up and writing with zero distractions before, home school, workout and then a bit of marketing or other tasks and errands in the afternoon!
I haven’t had caffeine in four days and lord, it’s killing me. But it’s not good for the hormones to have it during a certain time of the month according to my doc.
Anywho, last week I ended on 37k words, and this week I’ve ended on a bit over 45k and starting chapter 20! Still have a long way to go and I don’t write 5k words a day like some writers but it was a good week for me. I didn’t write yesterday and probably won’t today either. Sunday is a day I like to relax.
But the book is going well, I’m loving more world building in this book and exploring the realms, the tragedies, the complex relationships. There are definitely parts that just make me giddy and Tif is a hoot. If you loved the first two, you’ll love this as much!
In other news, Long live the Elf Queen will be released in audiobook in March! The narrators, yes two, it is Bridget Bordeaux and her husband Jake for a duet narration are finished and it’s in editing.
I actually had him go back and do all Thane’s chapters and all male dialogue for book 1 as well so they match. It really brings the book to life having them both narrate. I’m listening to it for errors right now and then the new file will be updated and it will no longer be single narration.
I’ve also been reading a really good book all morning, A Dawn of Onyx by Kate Golden. Not going to lie, the cover drew me in and someone mentioned vampires. But there are castles and a dragon and a hot king. It reminds me somewhat of my own writing which is probably why I like it lol. Although there is not a lot of action, it’s still keeping me interested. Have any of you read it?
That’s all for this week!
Until next time,
JM

I haven’t read it but may have to check it out! Love the update! Would love to hear the male narration 💖
Can’t wait. You’re superhuman being able to juggle a busy week and find time to write 30k+ words. Will appreciate the next book even more!! I’m so excited.
Take care of yourself!! 💕
Oh, thank you but that’s how much I have written in total over the last several weeks, not in one week. I went from 37k last week to 45k at the end of this week so that’s like 8k for the week. Progress is steady but not super fast lol.
I just finished the second book and now I fear I will not sleep before work in the morning due to all the excitement! 😂 I’m glad I found your updates as well, it’ll be awesome to see a bit of your writing process. Much love, and thank you for your lovely creation❤️
So just bought Bow to the Elf Queen on audiobook last week, and after blowing through that and preordering the second book in audiobook in march. I couldn’t wait with that cliff hanger and also bought it on kindle and read it in two days staying up almost all night one night to read, because I was that enthralled! Just wanted to gush as you have officially joined my list of authors I follow and read everything they put out and have done which is not a lot for as many books as I have read! 1. Wanted to say how thankful I am to have an epic world holding fantasy romance with side character stories, witty banter, some spice, adventure, and lost of twist and turns all in one story that also doesn’t seem to have massive portions of the book that provide nothing it seems! Once things got rolling both in twist and turns, romance, action, ect it just kept going! But it also provided just enough to keep an everything at a perfect pace in my opinion! 2. I love that you make me as a reader think on a deeper level at many times through the story. For instance the comment thane makes about how loss at this point is something that is but a flicker of sadness and then on to the next thing, but only because it’s so common to him at this point not because he doesn’t care and that also makes him sad he has to learn to just keep moving on because he had to. This is something I am sure unfortunately many in war have to deal with. Along with the fact that he has to fight his own people who are just following orders. Also the fact that you obviously have your hero’s and villains in the story, but yet they is gray area in many ways and points at which they aren’t so bad or you see that they many not realize they were in the wrong and it really made me think about power and how those in charge when they believe they are right have be able to adapt or change their mind/ plans or risk becoming the villain without realizing it sometimes even. Basically all this is just to say I absolutely love the first two books and am dying to read any and all rid bits or anything I can find! Can’t wait to preorder the third book! On the off chance you ever need a reader to ya know read/ make sure no grammatical or issues occurred before print I would gladly volunteer!! Lol
